🌐 Exporting and Importing Bookmarks in Web Browsers
📌 Purpose
This article provides step-by-step instructions for exporting and importing bookmarks (favorites) in the most commonly used web browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari.
🌍 Google Chrome
Export Bookmarks
- Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu (top-right).
- Select Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager.
- Click the three-dot menu in the blue bar (top-right of the Bookmark Manager).
- Select Export Bookmarks.
- Save the
.html
file to your computer.
Import Bookmarks
- Go to Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager.
- Click the three-dot menu in the blue bar again.
- Select Import Bookmarks.
- Choose the previously saved
.html
file.
🦊 Mozilla Firefox
Export Bookmarks
- Click the menu icon (three lines, top-right), then select Bookmarks.
- Choose Manage bookmarks (or press
Ctrl+Shift+O
).
- In the Library window, click Import and Backup.
- Select Export Bookmarks to HTML.
- Save the file to your computer.
Import Bookmarks
- Go to Import and Backup in the Library window.
- Select Import Bookmarks from HTML.
- Choose the
.html
file you previously saved.
🧩 Microsoft Edge
Export Bookmarks
- Click the three-dot menu (top-right), then choose Favorites.
- Select the three-dot menu again in the Favorites bar.
