STEP 1: IMAGE COMPRESSION

  1. From the main menu, click on FILE and navigate to COMPRESS PICTURES and click that to open a dialog box.




STEP 2: IMAGE COMPRESSION

       Check the DELETE CROPPED AREAS OF THE PICTURES and them click on the drop-down menu.

STEP 3:  PAGE

Because most PowerPoint presentations are delivered on a computer screen or projector, the ON-SCREEN option will reduce the file size while retaining visual clarity. If you anticipate printing your presentation at some point in the future, then keep a copy for print media and make a copy the On-Screen presentations.





ALTERNATIVE

  1. *** An alternative approach to compressing images can be access by: 
    Select any image in the document.
    Once selected, the PICTURE FORMAT option will appear in the menu bar.
    Select COMPRESS PICTURES to open the dialog box. Then follow the settings described above.  




COMPRESSION COMPARISON

There is no specific ratio to represent the compress of a file. This example compares the original file with the compressed file. It is a significant reduction of more than half.
