This article guides faculty with setting up the grade weights in their grade book, and set the access to evaluations through scheduling and assignment.

SCHEDULING
After creating your evaluation, the bottom of the page provides the parameters for scheduling the assessment. The default setting should be EVERYONE, which means that all students registered in the class will have access to the assessment. This schedule should NOT be changed. If you want to assign an individual, add a new ASSIGN TO schedule. Any number of assigns can be made. Here is a detailed explanation of the fields.
- ASSIGN TO - This is the field where you can add particular students.
- DUE DATE - This is the date and time access to the evaluation closes.
- AVAILABLE - Sets the day and time the assessment opens.
- UNTIL - Allows an extension of the DUE DATE, or provides a means for late submissions.
-
In this example, access is assigned to everyone in the class, and a separate access for an individual student who was given access (for whatever reason) to take the evaluation at another time.
GRADE WEIGHTS
- A. GROUPS & ASSIGNMENTS - The add "+" GROUP button allows you to add an assignment group, like quizzes, presentations, reports, etc. The add "+" ASSIGNMENT button allows you to create a new assignment.
-
- B. ASSIGNMENT GROUPS WEIGHT - This link opens a window that allows you to set the weight of the assignment groups.
This is what the ADD ASSIGNMENT GROUP window looks like. It is possible to enter the percentage for the grade weight here, but that can also be set in the GROUP WEIGHT dialog as well.
This is what the ASSIGNMENT GROUPS WEIGHT window looks like. This is where we are able to adjust the group weights. Notice the check mark at the top of the window, which toggles the implementation of the weight.
