- This document outlines the steps to recover a Microsoft account password using a personal email address.

- Open a browser and go to the Microsoft account recovery page: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/.

Type in your Salve email address in the Email or Username field.

Type in the captcha code in the text field below and click Next.

Select “Email by alternate email” from the list of recovery options. You should see your personal email address on right-hand side hidden by asterisks symbols.

Click the Email button. Microsoft will send you a pin to the email address specified in the previous step. Make sure to check your junk or spam folders for the email.

Type in the code from the recover email and press Next.

Type in a new password. The password must contain the following:

Use more than 12 or more characters, including numbers, special symbols, upper and lower case letters.

The password should be unique to your Salve/Microsoft 365 account.

Your Salve/Microsoft 365 account should not use a password you have used in the past for other accounts or services you use on the Internet.

Your Salve/Microsoft 365 account password should not be used for any other accounts or services you use on the Internet, even if you sign-up with them with a Salve e-mail address.

Try not to use patterns or similar passwords that you have used in the past - these are easily guessable using modern password-cracking techniques used by malicious actors.
8. Press Finish.
Your password has been reset and you can begin using it to access Salve services.
💡 Troubleshooting & Tips

If the Microsoft catpcha is not recognizing the characters that are typed in the text field, try generating a new captcha by clicking on the circle located on the right hand side of the image. Try typing in the new set of letters and verify again.
