🔹 Step 1: Open Outlook Settings
- Windows or macOS App:
- Open Outlook.
- Select File → Options.
- Choose Calendar from the left-hand menu.
- Outlook on the Web:
- Go to outlook.office.com.
- Select the Settings ⚙️ icon in the upper right.
- Click View all Outlook settings → Calendar → Events and invitations.
🔹 Step 2: Turn On “End Meetings Early”
- Windows/macOS:
- Under the section Calendar options, check the box labeled Shorten appointments and meetings.
- Choose either:
- End early (recommended)
- Start late
- Select how many minutes to shorten:
- 5 minutes for meetings less than 1 hour
- 10–15 minutes for meetings 1 hour or longer
- Click OK to save your changes.
- Web Version:
- Under Shorten duration for all events, toggle the switch On.
- Choose to end early by 5, 10, or 15 minutes.
- Click Save.
🔹 Step 3: Verify the Change
- Create a new meeting in Outlook and confirm that the default duration now ends a few minutes early.
- Adjust again later if you prefer a different buffer time.
