Using Salve AI

📌 Purpose

Salve AI is Salve Regina University's secure artificial intelligence platform available to students, faculty, and staff. This article explains how to access Salve AI, sign in using your university credentials, and begin using AI-powered tools for research, writing assistance, brainstorming, coding, document analysis, and more.

🛠️ Instructions

Step 1: Access Salve AI

1. Open your preferred web browser.
2. Navigate to the Salve AI website:

Step 2: Sign In with Your Salve Account

      1. Select Salve Login SSO

       2. Enter your Salve Regina University email address.

       3. Authenticate using your Salve password and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) if prompted.

Step 3: Start a New Conversation

1.    After signing in , you can select your preferred model by selecting the icon in the top left of the chat screen.  The option will say Select a Model.

Step 4: Upload Documents (If Available)

1. Select the attachment or upload icon.

          ​​​​2. Select upload as text.

3. Choose the file you would like the AI to review.

4. Ask questions about the uploaded content.

Example: Upload a PDF and ask, "Can you summarize the key points of this document?"

Step 5: Select an AI Model (If Available)

Depending on your access level, multiple AI models may be available. Each model may be optimized for different usage.
