Cisco Webex Calling - How to place a Phone Call

🛠️ Instructions

With Webex Calling, you have the option of making phone calls using your Cisco desk phone or using the Webex App on both your computer and mobile device.

 

Internal Phone Calls:

 

For Cisco desk phones, pickup the phone handle (or press the speaker phone button) and dial the four-digit extension associated with the user or department you are trying to reach.

 

Webex Desktop App:

  1. In the Webex app, click on the calling icon located on the left-hand side.
  2. Underneath the keypad, make sure the source is set to “My Computer”.

         

 

Dial the four-digit extension and press the audio or video  button to place the call. Keep in mind that if the recipient does not have a video enabled device, the call will still go through, but video will not be available.

 

To end the call, press the end call button   located on the bottom right-hand side of the screen.

 

Webex Mobile App:

  1. Click on the calling icon located on the bottom of the screen.
  2. Press the keypad icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. Dial the four-digit extension of the user or department you are trying to reach and press the to place the call.

 

External Phone Calls:

 

The process for placing an external phone call is the same as listed above. The difference is when placing the call, you will need to dial the full ten-digit phone number.  For example, to call the Salve Bookstore, you would dial 4018479086. Pressing 9 then 1 is no longer required to make external phone calls.

 

Phone Operator

In order to reach the operator for assistance, you need to dial "000" from your desk phone or Cisco Webex app.

 

How to Dial an International phone number:

 

1. Press and hold star (*) for at least 1 second. The plus (+) sign is displayed as the first digit in the phone number.

2. Dial 011, then the country code followed by the phone number.

3. Press Call or wait 10 seconds after the last key press to automatically place the call.

Secure Calls

Your phone encrypts all calls to protect the calls. The lock icon displays on the phone screen for all secure calls.
