Password Reset – Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR)

📌 Purpose

This service helps students, faculty, and staff reset their Salve Regina password using the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) tool. Users should attempt SSPR before requesting assistance through the IT Help System.

🛠️ Service Description

  • Service Name: Password Reset – Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR)
  • When to Use: If you forget your password, your account is compromised, or the system prompts you to reset it for security.
  • Next Steps:
    • Go to the Self-Service Password Reset site.
    • Enter your Salve email and the characters displayed.
    • SELECT your preferred method for verification, then approve the code on your authenticator app or phone number. Keep your MFA device ready.
    • SELECT Next and repeat the verification step if required.
    • Enter a new password following these guidelines:
      • Use at least 12 characters with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
      • Use a unique password for your Salve/Microsoft 365 account.
      • Do not reuse passwords from other accounts or services.
    • If you cannot complete SSPR, submit a request through the IT Support Portal. Be prepared to verify your identity by phone before a manual reset can be completed.
