Approved AI Applications

📌 Purpose

  • This article outlines AI tools that are approved for Salve Regina University use. 
  • The use of AI tools must comply with the University AI Usage Policy
  • These tools are only approved when using your Salve Regina University account. These tools are not approved when being used with a personal (non-Salve) account.

  • All devices capable of utilizing AI tools. 

🛠️ Applications

Adobe Firefly

  • Who has access: Users with the Adobe Creative Cloud license
  • Features: Adobe Firefly is an AI image generation tool

Microsoft Copilot 365 free

  • Who has access: All Salve Office365 Users
  • Features: Document summarization, email drafting, and conversational AI. Tasks often require additional manual steps, such as uploading files for processing, or copy and pasting text. Interaction is solely by Copilot Chat. 

Microsoft Copilot 365 Pro

  • Who has access: Users who have a Microsoft Copilot 365 Pro license. May require an additional purchase.
  • Features: Integrates into Microsoft 365 applications like Outlook, Word, and Teams, allowing a smoother and more efficient work flow. Microsoft Teams includes meeting notes and action items. Outlook includes email draft replies, email summaries and meeting scheduling. Word includes document rewriting, formatting, and summarizing. Conversational AI includes access to Onedrive content you have access to. 
  • Copilot Pro now includes access to Claude (Opus). This is the only approved University access to utilize Claude.

TurnItIn

  • Who has access: Turnitin is available for faculty via Canvas
  • Features: Features include a plagiarism and AI detection tool

Zoom AI: 

  • Who has access: All Salve Zoom Users
  • Features: Features include meeting summaries as well as a question and answer bot available during your meeting.

💡 Tips

  • If you do not know if it is safe to share data with an AI tool, do not share the data. Please reach out to your supervisor for guidance on if the data can be processed by an AI model.
