International Travel Access Request

This service supports Salve Regina students, faculty, and staff traveling internationally who need assistance accessing email, Microsoft services, and using Salve-issued cell phones while abroad. It ensures continued access to essential tools, prevents account lockouts, and helps manage Salve cell phone plans during travel.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Service Description

  • Service Name: International Travel Support โ€“ Email, Microsoft Services & Salve Cell Phones
  • When to Use:
    • Before traveling to countries with restricted Microsoft services (e.g., Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria) to request an exemption for continued access to Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
    • Before traveling internationally with a Salve-issued cell phone to understand TravelPass charges and ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Next Steps:
    • Select the service request for "Request International Access."
    • Include the following information in your request:
      • Full Name (as registered with Salve Regina)
      • Salve email address
      • Travel dates (start and end)
      • Travel countries and cities
    • The IT Support Team will process your request and confirm when exemptions or updates have been applied (allow up to 48 hours for completion).

๐Ÿ’ก Additional Details

  • Microsoft Services: Most countries do not require exemptions; however, we recommend submitting a request to avoid potential access issues. For blocked countries, the team will apply an exemption to ensure continued service.
  • Salve Cell Phones: Salve-issued phones are provisioned with Verizon TravelPass ($10/day) for talk, text, and 512MB of data. Verizon automatically activates this feature when you cross into another country. Charges will be billed directly to Salveโ€™s account.
  • Travel Changes: If your travel plans change, email the updated details to tsc@salve.edu as soon as possible.
